Mr. Kazuo Ishiguro has been awarded this year’s Nobel Prize in Literature. I wish to extend my most heartfelt congratulations to him.

Born in the city of Nagasaki in Nagasaki Prefecture, Mr. Ishiguro moved to the UK while still a young child and  has been actively pursuing his work as an author.

Japan is also home to a great number of his fans. Alongside them, I wish to congratulate Mr. Ishiguro on this magnificent achievement.
