Press Occasion on the Summit Telephone Talk with President Trump of the United States

On October 4, 2017, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a press occasion at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.
In regard to the Japan-U.S. Summit Telephone Talk with President Donald Trump, the Prime Minister said,
“I called President Trump because I wanted to directly express my condolences and sympathies to President Trump and the people of the United States regarding the horrifying shooting incident that occurred in Las Vegas.
I told President Trump that the people of Japan and I stand together with President Trump and the people of the United States 100 percent during times of difficulty for the United States.
In addition, we had an exchange of views on the situation in North Korea, and we shared the view that we will continue to collaborate and work on this matter.”
