Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a press occasion at the Prime Minister's Office on September 3, 2017.

In regard to the nuclear test by North Korea, the Prime Minister said,

“Despite repeated warnings from the international community, North Korea has belligerently conducted a nuclear test. Japan finds this completely unacceptable.  It depends upon the coordination and solidarity of the international community whether we are able to stop these outrageous acts by North Korea that threaten world peace.  We will respond resolutely in collaboration with the international community, including the United States and the Republic of Korea, as well as China and Russia. In the United Nations as well, I believe that it must demonstrate its strong will to protect world peace. Under the robust Japan-U.S. Alliance, we will maintain a high level of vigilance and make every effort to secure the safety of the people.”
