Press Occasion on the Visits to Germany, France, Belgium, and Italy
March 19, 2017
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a press occasion at Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport).
The Prime Minister said the following with regard to his visits to Germany, France, Belgium, and Italy,
“I would like to have a frank and candid exchange of opinions with the G7 leaders of Germany, France, Italy, and the European Union (EU). I want to establish close cooperation with the EU in order to collaborate on the issues which the international community currently faces, including the North Korea issue and free trade issues.
In addition, I will attend the world’s largest information and telecommunications trade fair in Germany. I want to thoroughly promote Japan’s information and telecommunications technology to the rest of the world. I also would like to have an in-depth exchange with Chancellor Merkel, a leader in the EU, about the importance of Japan-EU collaborations and specific issues we can work on together going forward.”
