Prime Minister’s Visit to the United States: First Day

On September 18 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited New York in the United States of America.
The following morning, September 19, as well as attending the Invest Japan Seminar and the Visit Japan Tourism Seminar, the Prime Minister held meetings, respectively, with H.H. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and H.E. Mr. Peter Thomson, President of the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly .
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister attended the UN Summit on Refugees and Migrants , held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, President of the Republic of Colombia, and received a courtesy call from Mrs. Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State of the United States.
Following that, Prime Minister Abe attended the Atlantic Council’s 2016 Global Citizen Awards Presentation Ceremony, where he was presented with a Global Citizen Award.
