On the morning of April 29 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who is currently visiting Washington D.C. in the United States of America, visited the World War II Memorial and then delivered an address to a joint meeting of the U.S. Congress.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister attended a reception hosted by the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and then met with members of the U.S. Senate.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister participated in a symposium organized by Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA, and also met with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
In the evening, the Prime Minister attended a dinner reception for contributors to U.S.-Japan relations.
