The Prime Minister Attends the ASEM 10 Summit Meeting and Other Events: First Day

On October 16 (local time), during his visit to the Italian Republic to attend the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) 10 Summit Meeting and other events, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held talks in the morning with H.E. General Prayuth Chan-ocha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. Following this, the Prime Minister delivered a speech at the closing session of the Asia-Europe Business Forum (AEBF) and then held talks with H.E. Mr. Matteo Renzi, President of the Council of Ministers of Italy.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister held talks with H.E. Mr. Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, and H.E. Mr. José Manuel Durão Barroso, President of the European Commission, of the European Union. Following this, the Prime Minister attended the opening ceremony of the ASEM 10 Summit Meeting and then a session with the representatives of the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting, the Asia-Europe People's Forum, and the AEBF. Afterwards, the Prime Minister attended the first session of the Summit Meeting and then held talks with H.E. Mr. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Lastly, the Prime Minister attended the second session of the Summit Meeting.
