The Prime Minister Attends the Inauguration Ceremony for the Promotion Office for Creating a Society in Which All Women Shine and Delivers an Address

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attended a ceremony of raising a signboard for the Promotion Office for Creating a Society in which All Women Shine, and also delivered an address to the staff.
The Prime Minister said in his address,
“The Promotion Office for Creating a Society in Which All Women Shine - our thoughts are truly expressed in the words of this signboard.
I want to create a society in which all women from all walks of life can shine.
Of course, this includes those who are working hard in their homes, those who are exerting themselves in the office, and women who are doing their utmost while grappling with various difficulties. I want to create a society in which all people can shine.
To this end, I think that there is also a need to change work styles. And I believe that in changing work styles, it is important for not only women, but men as well, to have the mindset that such change will create a better society for all, regardless of gender.
We have already compiled a policy package. By promoting it, we will turn Japan into an easier and better place for women to live. Japan will become a better country - not only for women, but for all Japanese. This office will be the control tower for the promotion of that reform. I would like for you to give your utmost effort under Minister Arimura with that sense of responsibility. I have high expectations for the work we will do together.”
