The Prime Minister's Visit to the United States: Third Day

On September 24 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who is visiting New York in the United States to attend the 69th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), took part in an event on women’s issues at the Clinton Foundation in the morning and then met with H.E. Mr. François Hollande, President of the French Republic.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister delivered an address to the Japan-Africa Regional Economic Communities (RECs) Summit Roundtable at the headquarters of the UN. Following this, the Prime Minister held talks with H.E. Mr. Juan Carlos Varela Rodriguez, President of the Republic of Panama, and later with H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary-General.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister held talks with the Hon. Mr. Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia. Next, the Prime Minister extended words of encouragement to the Japanese staff of international organizations at a hotel in New York City. Finally, the Prime Minister attended a Japanese cuisine reception hosted at the official residence of Japan’s ambassador to the UN.
