Prime Minister Shinzo Abe conducted his first reshuffling of the Cabinet after inaugurating the Second Abe Cabinet.
After collecting letters of resignation at an extraordinary Cabinet Meeting, a ruling parties leaders’ meeting was held with Chief Representative Yamaguchi of New Komeito, and then Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga announced the list of Cabinet members. Furthermore, the attestation ceremony for newly appointed Ministers of State was held at the Imperial Palace, marking the inauguration of the Reshuffled Second Abe Cabinet.
Later, Prime Minister Abe held a press conference about the Cabinet reshuffle. Afterwards, he held the first Cabinet meeting, and then attended a commemorative photograph session.
