Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held talks with H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), at the Prime Minister's Office.
After the talks, the Prime Minister attended a signing ceremony and then hosted a banquet at the Prime Minister's Official Residence, inviting relevant parties.
The Prime Minister said in his address,
“Following-on from my visit to the UAE last year, I am delighted to be able to welcome His Highness today. This occasion reinforces for me the solid partnership that exists between our two countries.
This evening, I have invited members of the Japan-UAE Parliamentary Friendship League, including former Prime Minister Fukuda and Honorary Chairman Komura, as well as Japanese business leaders to whom His Highness extended a kind welcome on the occasion of my visit to the UAE last year. Today, our bilateral cooperation extends beyond the energy sector and has expanded to a diverse range of sectors. The public and private sectors in Japan will continue to make concerted efforts to further solidify our partnership.
I would also like to add that I look forward to enhancing our cooperation and coordination to ensure the success of two events in 2020 that will be marked in history, the Dubai World Expo and the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
I wish H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates and everyone here good health and happiness. Shukran.”
