On February 7 (local time), during his visit to the Russian Federation, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attended the Opening Ceremony of the Sochi 2014 XXII Olympic Winter Games.
On the morning of the following day, February 8 (local time), the Prime Minister offered words of encouragement to the Japanese National Team at the Olympic Village in the Olympic Park and presented them with a video message of support from Japan.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister held a summit meeting with H.E. Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, at the Russian Presidential Executive Office.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister held a press conference.
