On January 25 (local time), during his visit to the Republic of India, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe first paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, President of India. Following this, the Prime Minister attended a Science and Technology Seminar in Business and Academia. The Prime Minister then held talks with H.E. Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, and held a signing ceremony for a joint statement and a joint press announcement.
On the morning of the following day, January 26 (local time), Prime Minister Abe became the first Prime Minister from Japan to review India's Republic Day Parade as the chief guest. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister met with accompanying representatives of the Japanese business community, conversed with women leaders, and then attended an Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA) and Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) Seminar on Quality Management. Following this, the Prime Minister attended a reception hosted by the President, and then met with those involved with the Priyadarshni Academy.
