Prime Minister's Visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

On January 13 (local time), during his visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attended the "Meeting with the Son of Late Olympian Abebe Bikila, and Athletes."
Later, the Prime Minister held talks with H.E. Mr. Ato Hailemariam Dessalegn, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, attended a signing ceremony, and held a joint press announcement at the National Palace.
In the evening, the Prime Minister attended a banquet hosted by H.E. Prime Minister Hailemariam.
On the following day, January 14 (local time), Prime Minister Abe paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Mulatu Teshome Wirtu, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and then visited a Japanese garden at the National Palace.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister delivered a speech on Japan's policy towards Africa, following which he received a courtesy call from H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Clarice Dlamini-Zuma, Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union (AU), at the AU headquarters.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister held a press conference.
