Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Yamaguchi and Shimane Prefectures to observe the damages caused by heavy rainfall.
Upon arriving in Tsuwano Town, Kanoashi County, Shimane Prefecture, the Prime Minister first received an explanation of the damages at the Tsuwano annex of the Tsuwano town office, and received a letter of request from Mr. Junichi Kobayashi, Deputy Governor of Shimane Prefecture.
Following this, the Prime Minister visited an evacuation center at the Tsuwano Civic Center and offered words of encouragement to the evacuees.
Later, the Prime Minister observed a site hit by torrential rain in the Washibara area.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister moved to the Ato-Tokusa-Shimo area in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture and observed a site hit by torrential rain.
Later, the Prime Minister visited the Yamaguchi Prefectural Office and received an explanation on the damages caused by the torrential rain, among other matters.
