Advisory Council on the Establishment of a National Security Council
Friday, March 29, 2013
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held the third Advisory Council on the Establishment of a National Security Council at the Prime Minister's Office.
At this meeting, there was an explanation from the government side and opinions were exchanged.
The Prime Minister said in his opening address,
"In order for appropriate policy judgments to be made in the National Security Council, which should serve as the control tower for foreign and security policies, it is essential that the discussion be held based on a greater amount of high-quality information.
For this, it is necessary that the National Security Council order the information department in a timely manner to collect information necessary for policy judgment, summarize and streamline the information and the results of analysis thereof, and contribute in the policy judgment made by the Prime Minister.
From such perspective, today I expect to obtain the knowledge of the members on how the utilization of information and policy judgment should be implemented in the National Security Council."
