Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a request for accelerating reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake at the Prime Minister's Office.

The Prime Minister said in his address,

"The government will take the request earnestly.
At any rate, the reconstruction should be accelerated. This is the mission imposed on the Abe administration. We are uniting our efforts under Mr. Takumi Nemoto, Minister for Reconstruction, with the recognition that each and every member of the Cabinet is the 'minister for reconstruction.'
We are willing to exert our efforts with a determination to have the people see the coming of next winter with hope. Already under Minister Nemoto, efforts are being made toward the progress becoming visible, since it is important to present a roadmap in order for the people to have hope.
We would like to respond to the voices of the people in the stricken areas by achieving results securely."
