 On March 10, commencing at 5:10 p.m., for approximately 25 minutes, Ms. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan received a courtesy call by the Honorable George Glass, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Japan. The overview is as follows:

1. Ambassador Glass stated that under the strong leadership of Prime Minister TAKAICHI and President Trump, the Japan-U.S. Alliance has become stronger than ever before, and reiterated the United States’ unwavering commitment to the Japan-U.S. Alliance and to the “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”  

2. Prime Minister TAKAICHI stated that she looks forward to demonstrating the unwavering Japan-U.S. Alliance in the upcoming visit to the United States.

3. The two sides also exchanged views on international affairs, including the current situation surrounding Iran.
