On May 2, 2026 (local time), Prime Minister Takaichi who is visiting Hanoi, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, held a summit meeting with H.E. Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of Viet Nam, and subsequently attended a luncheon hosted by General Secretary and President To Lam.

Prime Minister Takaichi then visited Vietnam National University in Hanoi and delivered a foreign policy speech.
