Inauguration of the Second Takaichi Cabinet

On February 18, 2026, the Second Takaichi Cabinet was inaugurated.
After a meeting of the ruling parties’ leaders at the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. KIHARA Minoru, the Chief Cabinet Secretary, announced the list of Cabinet members. Afterwards, the investiture ceremony for the Prime Minister and the certification ceremony for the Ministers were held at the Imperial Palace, marking the inauguration of the second Takaichi Cabinet.
Then Prime Minister Takaichi returned to the Prime Minister’s Office and held a press conference, followed by the first Cabinet meeting and a commemorative photograph with the Cabinet members.
