On May 3, Prime Minister ISHIBA Shigeru sent a congratulatory message to the Hon. Anthony Albanese, MP, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, extending his congratulations on the outcome of the Australian federal election.
In the message, Prime Minister Ishiba also stated that Japan and Australia are “Special Strategic Partners” sharing fundamental values and strategic interests and expressed his intention to continue working closely with Australia to achieve a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”.
