Message of condolences by Prime Minister Ishiba on the passing of Former Deputy Secretary Armitage

 
On April 15, Prime Minister Ishiba issued the following message of condolences on the passing of Ambassador Richard Lee Armitage, Former Deputy Secretary of State.
 
“I would like to express my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Ambassador Richard Armitage. Ambassador Armitage possessed profound insight into U.S. policy toward Japan and dedicated himself to strengthening the Japan-U.S. Alliance. I would like to once again express my respect for his significant achievements and, on behalf of the Government and people of Japan, offer my heartfelt prayers for the repose of his soul.
