Congratulatory Message from Prime Minister Ishiba to H.E. Ms. Kristrún Frostadóttir, Prime Minister of Iceland

 On December 30, Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan, sent a congratulatory letter to H.E. Ms. Kristrún FROSTADÓTTIR, on her election as Prime Minister of Iceland based on the results of the general elections held on November 30.
  1. In the letter, Prime Minister Ishiba congratulated Prime Minister Frostadóttir on her inauguration and expressed his desire to cooperate in a wide range of areas, including issues related to the Arctic, sustainable use of marine resources, renewable energy including geothermal power generation, and women's empowerment.

  2. He also expressed his intention to further deepen cooperation with Iceland in maintaining and strengthening the free and open international order based on the rule of law, including the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific."
