Visit to Miyagi Prefecture by Prime Minister ISHIBA and Prime Minister Modi of India

On August 30, 2025, Prime Minister Ishiba visited Miyagi Prefecture with H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
On the way to Miyagi Prefecture, the two leaders received a send-off at Tokyo Station from Indian train drivers who are undergoing training at East Japan Railway Company, and posed for a commemorative photograph. After boarding the Tohoku Shinkansen, the two leaders observed the experimental rolling stock “ALFA-X” while it was stationed at Omiya Station in Saitama Prefecture, and also observed the Tohoku Shinkansen itself and exchanged views. Afterwards, the two leaders held a luncheon meeting, which was followed by a visit to a semiconductor manufacturing equipment production plant (Tokyo Electron Limited) in Taiwa Town, Kurokawa District.
Lastly, Prime Minister Ishiba spoke to the press regarding the visit to Miyagi Prefecture by the two leaders and other matters.
