On October 5, 2024, Prime Minister Ishiba visited Ishikawa Prefecture to confirm the extent of the damage caused by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and the heavy rainfall since September 20. 

Prime Minister Ishiba visited the site where houses were washed away in Futegawa-machi, Wajima City, followed by a visit to the earthquake and fire-stricken site at the Wajima morning market in the same city. The Prime Minister then visited the temporary housing that was flooded in Takuda-machi and the evacuation shelter at Fugeshi Elementary School, also in Wajima City.

In the afternoon, Prime Minister Ishiba visited the evacuation shelter at Uedo Elementary School in Suzu City, followed by a visit to the landslide site in Otani-machi, also in Suzu City. The Prime Minister then visited the evacuation shelter at Otani Elementary and Junior High School. Finally, the Prime Minister received a request letter from Mr. HASE Hiroshi, Governor of Ishikawa Prefecture, and spoke to the press regarding today's visit.
