Visit to Ishikawa Prefecture to Confirm the Extent of the Damage Caused by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake

On September 19, 2024, Prime Minister Kishida visited Ishikawa Prefecture to assess the extent of the damage caused by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake. 

Prime Minister Kishida visited the Wajima Asaichi Street and a temporary workshop for Wajima Lacquer, followed by a roundtable discussion aimed at the regeneration of Wajima's industries at the Wajima Museum of Urushi Art in Ishikawa Prefecture. 

Afterwards, the Prime Minister received briefings on the situation regarding liquefaction damage at Kahoku City Hall and Nishiaraya Elementary School in Uchinada Town, Kahoku District, respectively, and inspected the sites. At the end of the visit, the Prime Minister spoke to the press regarding his visit today.
