On February 24, 2024, Prime Minister Kishida visited Ishikawa Prefecture to confirm the extent of the damage caused by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
Prime Minister Kishida gave encouragements to Mr. YOSHIMURA Koki, Mayor of Anamizu Town, and social welfare council staff members in an evacuation center in Anamizu Town, Ishikawa Prefecture, followed by an inspection of the center. The Prime Minister then visited Wajima City, including Shiroyone Senmaida rice terraces, emergency temporary housing, the Port of Wajima, and the Asaichi area of the city. Following that, the Prime Minister received an explanation on the extent of the damage to Wajima-nuri lacquerware artisans and held a small group talk. At the end of the visit, the Prime Minister spoke to the press regarding his visit and other matters.
