“In the diplomatic arena, this year will be a year of tension. The international situation, such as the aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, is unpredictable. Moreover, this year will witness the U.S. presidential election and important national elections in Asia, Europe, and other regions. We must fully leverage our diplomatic clout to overcome difficulties and demonstrate the leadership unique to Japan. In order to resolutely defend the safety and prosperity of the Japanese people, we will actively undertake summit diplomacy again this year.”
