On August 20, 2023, Prime Minister Kishida visited Fukushima Prefecture.
 
Prime Minister Kishida made an observation tour of ALPS and the facilities for discharging ALPS (Advanced Liquid Processing System) treated water into the ocean at Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO)’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, followed by an exchange of views with TEPCO. Afterwards, the Prime Minister spoke to the press regarding his visit to Fukushima Prefecture and other matters.
