Visit to Okinawa Prefecture: Day 1

On May 14, 2022, Prime Minister Kishida visited Okinawa Prefecture.
 
The Prime Minister offered flowers at the National Cemetery for the War Dead in Okinawa and the Shimamori Monument, both in the Peace Memorial Park, before visiting the Monument to Students Mobilized during the Battle of Okinawa and the Cornerstone of Peace. Then, the Prime Minister also offered flowers at the Hiroshima Monument before visiting the Hoshinmon Gate and the observation walkway on the northern side of the Hokuden hall, both located in the Shurijo Castle Park. Then, the Prime Minister sat down with those involved in the promotion of traditional culture and tourism at a roundtable talk before holding a press conference regarding the serious visits he made during the day. Finally, the Prime Minister received a written opinion from a delegation led by the Chairman of the Okinawa Prefectural Assembly.
