Visit to Cambodia

On March 20, 2022 (local time), the Prime Minister visited Phnom Penh in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Prime Minister offered flowers at the memorial for the late Police Superintendent Mr. TAKADA Haruyuki and laid a wreath at the Independent Monument, followed by his attendance at a ceremony to offer a wreath at the Royal Memorial Statue of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk. Afterwards, the Prime Minister offered flowers at the memorial for the late Mr. NAKATA Atsuhiko, a United Nations Volunteer (UNV).

Then the Prime Minister attended a welcome ceremony and held a summit meeting with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Afterwards, the leaders held a signing ceremony and a joint press announcement.

At the end of the visit, the Prime Minister spoke to the press regarding the Japan-Cambodia summit meeting and other matters.
