(Abridged)
REPORTER: The G20 Meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors has been held in Buenos Aires yesterday and today. It is an important meeting that discusses the responses to the issue related to crypto-currency, among other matters. Minister of Finance Aso has given priority to the Diet’s response to the Moritomo Gakuen issue and is therefore absent from the meeting. What are your thoughts on the impact of the absence of the head of the Finance Ministry to this important meeting?
CHIEF CABINET SECRETARY SUGA: Firstly, this meeting is currently in session. It is too soon to comment on the details of the meeting. It was reported that the meeting is to have lively discussions regarding key risks to the world economy, responses to the demand for vast infrastructure financing, and other issues. State Minister of Finance Kihara is attending as the representative of the Government of Japan. We understood that based on the instructions from Minister Aso, the State Minister is currently actively participating in the discussions on the world economy and capital markets.
REPORTER: Some media outlets reported that Premier Li Keqiang of China would visit Japan in May. What is the status of the arrangements towards a Japan-China-Republic of Korea (ROK) summit meeting?
CHIEF CABINET SECRETARY SUGA: Japan will chair the Japan-China-ROK summit. We are coordinating with China and the ROK in order to hold the next summit as early as possible at a mutually convenient time. The exact date has not been decided at this point in time. It is still being coordinated.
