Q&As

(Abridged)

REPORTER: CNN has reported that a North Korean submarine is engaged in activity in the Sea of Japan, approximately 100 km from North Korea. It is said to be unprecedented for a North Korean submarine to sail in a strait this far away from the country. What is the understanding of the Government?

CHIEF CABINET SECRETARY SUGA: I am aware of the report. The Government has serious concern over North Korea’s military activities, including nuclear and missile development, and makes efforts to collect and analyze information on a daily basis. We are taking all possible measures. I would like to refrain from commenting on individual specific details and analyses.
