REPORTER: I have a question regarding the incident involving a Chinese passenger ship that capsized. It seems that the rescue work is facing considerable challenges. Does the Japanese Government have any intention of considering the provision of support or other services?

CHIEF CABINET SECRETARY SUGA: First, the Government of Japan would like to express its deepest condolences to those who were involved and were affected by this tragic incident. In the wake of this incident, Prime Minister Abe, through the Japanese Embassy in China, has conveyed to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang that he sends his deepest condolences to those who were affected by this incident, and that Japan stands ready to help to the fullest extent possible. We understand that earnest rescue work is currently under way in China. We sincerely pray that the missing people are rescued as quickly as possible.
