Ministerial Council on the Administration of Food Safety

Verbal Approval at the Cabinet Meeting
- The Ministerial Council on the Administration of Food Safety (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") shall be convened whenever necessary in order to compile detailed proposals focusing on modalities for a new administrative organization able to meet the need to ensure food safety.
- The members of the Council are the Minister for Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications, the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Minster of State responsible for the affairs of the Quality-of-Life Policy Bureau, as well as the Chief Cabinet Secretary.
The Council may request the attendance of the relevant Ministers and other concerned parties where necessary.
- The Chief Cabinet Secretary shall preside over the Council.
- The administrative affairs of the Council shall be handled by the Cabinet Secretariat, with the cooperation of the relevant administrative organizations, including the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
