Establishment of the Headquarters for the Regional Revitalization | ||
October 24, 2003 Cabinet Decision | ||
1. | The Headquarters for the Regional Revitalization (hereinafter referred to as "the Headquarters") shall be established inside the Cabinet to actively and comprehensively promote the revitalization of regional economies and creation of regional employment from the standpoint of the regional areas. | |
2. | The Headquarters shall consist of the following members. The Chair may, however, request the attendance of the concerned parties where necessary. | |

Deputy Chairs: | Chief Cabinet Secretary, Minister of State for Regional Revitalization, Minister of State for Special Zones for Structural Reform and Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy | |
Members: | All other Ministers of State | |
(Note) Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretaries (Parliamentary and Administrative) shall attend the Headquarter meetings. | ||
3. | A Secretary may be appointed inside the Headquarters. The Secretary shall be a civil servant of one of the administrative agencies concerned and holding an appointment designated by the Chair. | |
4. | The Chair may request experts in the field to assemble and express their opinions where necessary. | |
5. | The administrative affairs of the Headquarters shall be handled by the Cabinet Secretariat with assistance from the Cabinet Office and cooperation of the administrative agencies concerned, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. | |
6. | Matters concerning the operation of the Headquarters and other necessary matters other than those stipulated in the preceding Paragraphs shall be determined by the Chair. |
