Establishment of the Headquarters for the Promotion of Gender Equality | ||

1. | The Headquarters for the Promotion of Gender Equality (hereinafter referred to as "the Headquarters") shall be established inside the Cabinet to promote the smooth and effective implementation of measures for promoting the creation of a gender-equal society. | |
2. | The Headquarters shall consist of the following members. The Chair may, however, appoint additional members when deemed necessary. | |

3. | With respect to the meetings of the Headquarters, Coordinators for Gender Equality (hereinafter referred to as "Coordinators") shall be appointed to the Headquarters to assist members and to be in charge of making the necessary adjustments to the measures for promoting the creation of a gender-equal society administered by the administrative agencies concerned. | |
Coordinators shall be civil servants of the administrative agencies concerned and holding an appointment designated by the Chair. | ||
4. | The Meeting of Coordinators for Gender Equality shall be established inside the Headquarters in order to achieve flexible coordination among the administrative agencies concerned. | |
5. | The administrative affairs of the Headquarters shall be handled by the Cabinet Office with the cooperation of the administrative agencies concerned. | |
6. | Matters concerning the operation of the Headquarters and other necessary matters other than those stipulated in the preceding Paragraphs shall be determined by the Chair. | |
7. | The Headquarters for the Planning and Promoting of Policies Relating to Women established inside the Prime Minister's Office in accordance with the Cabinet Decision of September 23, 1975 shall be abolished. |
