Establishment of the Headquarters on the Promotion of Policies for Food, Agriculture and Rural Areas | |||

1. | The Headquarters on the Promotion of Policies for Food, Agriculture and Rural Areas shall be established inside the Cabinet to steadily promote the "Basic Plan for Food, Agriculture and Rural Areas" (Cabinet Decision, March 24, 2000). | ||
2. | The Headquarters shall consist of the following members. In addition, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretaries (Parliamentary and Administrative) shall attend the meetings. The Chair may request the attendance of the concerned parties where necessary. | ||

(3) | Members: | Minister of State for Regional Revitalization Ministers of State for Special Missions Minister of State for Defense Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Minister of Justice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Minister of the Environment | |
3. | A Secretary shall be appointed within the Headquarters. The Secretary shall be a civil servant of one of the administrative agencies concerned and holding an appointment designated by the Chair. | ||
4. | The administrative affairs of the Headquarters shall be handled by the Cabinet Secretariat with the cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and other administrative agencies concerned. | ||
5. | Necessary matters concerning the operation of the Headquarters other than those stipulated in the preceding Paragraphs shall be determined by the Chair. | ||
6. | The Emergency Headquarters for Food, Agriculture and Rural Areas (Cabinet Decision, December 17, 1993) shall be abolished, and its functions shall be taken over by the Headquarters on the Promotion of Policies for Food, Agriculture and Rural Areas. |
