Ministerial Council on Barrier-free Environments | |
March 17, 2000 Verbal Approval at the Cabinet Meeting Partial Amendment, December 26, 2000 | |
1. | The Ministerial Council on Barrier-free Environments (hereinafter referred to as "the Council") shall be convened whenever necessary with the aim of effectively and comprehensively promoting barrier-free environments throughout society, in both soft and hard aspects, so that all people, including the elderly and disabled persons, can lead a safe and pleasant social life. |
2. | The members of the Council are the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Minister of State for Okinawa and Northern Territories Affairs, Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy, Chairman of the National Public Safety Commission and the Chief Cabinet Secretary. |
The Council may request the attendance of ministers concerned and other concerned parties where necessary. | |
3. | The Chief Cabinet Secretary shall preside over the Council. |
4. | A Secretary shall be appointed inside the Council. The Secretary shall be a civil servant of one of the administrative agencies concerned and holding an appointment designated by the Chief Cabinet Secretary. |
5. | The administrative affairs of the Council shall be handled by the Cabinet Secretariat with the cooperation of the administrative agencies concerned, including the Cabinet Office. |
