The Strategic Headquarters for the Promotion of an Advanced Information and Telecommunications Network Society (IT Strategic Headquarters) held its third meeting at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. The IT Strategic Headquarters approved the e-Japan Priority Policy Program, a specific blueprint for achieving the national goal of making Japan the world's most advanced IT nation within five years as specified by the e-Japan Strategy approved in January.
At the meeting's close Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori said, "The government intends to take prompt and prioritized action based on the e-Japan Priority Policy Program approved today." He added, "With this, Japan has firmly embarked on the road to becoming the world's most advanced IT nation. Our mission is to further accelerate our efforts, never allowing the process to lose momentum, and thus contribute to making the twenty-first century a 'century of hope' for Japan, a century in which each and every citizen can live with hopes and dreams."
