US Major League Player Tadahito Iguchi of the White Sox Pays a Courtesy Call on Prime Minister
Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi received a courtesy call from baseball player Tadahito Iguchi of the White Sox, the team that clinched the US Major League World Series, and talked with him at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. Mr. Iguchi presented Prime Minister Koizumi with a uniform, cap and the bat that he actually used in the games. Wearing the cap and uniform over his suit, Prime Minister Koizumi took a few light swings with the bat, received bunting tips, and remarked, "This is quite heavy. You can swing this?" making for relaxed and cordial talks.
