Takarazuka Revue Company Pays a Courtesy Call on Prime Minister
Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi received a courtesy call from Ms. Wataru Kozuki and Ms. Yuri Shirahane of the Star Troupe of Takarazuka Revue Company and had a talk with them at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. For its upcoming tour in the Republic of Korea (ROK) in November, Ms. Kozuki and Ms. Shirahane will be starring as the leading male and female roles, respectively. As part of the "Japan-Korea Friendship Year 2005" commemorating the 40th anniversary of the normalization of Japan-ROK diplomatic relations, Takarazuka is scheduled to begin its ROK tour on November 11 at the request of both the Japan-Korea Parliamentarians' Union and the Korea-Japan Parliamentarians' Union, and at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the ROK. Prime Minister Koizumi offered words of encouragement, saying, "I hope Takarazuka would go on tour to China or the ROK or Southeast Asia every year. Please take care of yourselves and break a leg!"
