The Photograph of Boy Scouts Awarded the Fuji Badge Pay Courtesy Call on Prime Minister

Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi received a courtesy call from representatives of the boy scouts who were awarded the Fuji Badge at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.

The Fuji Badge is awarded to scouts who have achieved most advanced goals in the venture scout division (young boys and girls in their third-year of lower secondary school up to those who are 20 years of age. Third-year students will qualify from September.)

Prime Minister Koizumi gave his words of encouragement to the 44 representatives of the scouts who received this Fuji Badge. Following his address, Mr. Jun Ando from Kanagawa Prefecture expressed his resolve as the representative of the recipients by saying, "I will challenge myself in order to grow as a person who will be ideal for young people so that contributions can be made to society which boy scout activities are seeking to realize."
