Chief Director of the Japan Pavilions at the Exposition of Global Harmony (2005 World Exposition) Pays Courtesy Call on Prime Minister
Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi received a courtesy call from Ms. Keiko Takeshita, an actress who will be serving as the Chief Director of the Japan Pavilions at the Exposition of Global Harmony (2005 World Exposition). The 2005 World Exposition will be taking place from March 24. Chief Director Takeshita who is from Aichi Prefecture will oversee the three pavilions of Japan Pavilion Nagakute, Japan Pavilion Seto and Japan Pavilion on the Internet. As the Chief Director, Ms. Takeshita will attend major events including the opening ceremony, escort foreign dignitaries and give an overall introduction of the Japan Pavilions on various occasions as the representative. After her visit to Prime Minister Koizumi, Ms. Takeshita said in an interview, "Originating from the region, I am very honored and gratified. As I am assigned an important duty, I hope that many people from both Japan and abroad will enjoy the events," and said, "I received words of encouragement from Prime Minister Koizumi that he too wishes for the success of the 2005 World Exposition."
