Japan-Republic of Nicaragua Summit Meeting Thursday, June 17, 2004 Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi held talks with Mr. Enrique Bolanos Geyer, the President of the Republic of Nicaragua, at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. At the meeting, Prime Minister Koizumi expressed his appreciation for Nicaragua's support for the position of Japan over the issue of whaling. In response, President Bolanos took note of the recent Japan-North Korea meeting and gave his support for the stance taken by Japan on the abduction issue, wishing for an early resolution to the issue and for such cases to never happen again. Further, President Bolanos requested for Japan to expand its investment into Central American countries.
