Ceremony to Release Tickets for the Exposition of Global Harmony
The Ceremony to release Tickets for the Exposition of Global Harmony was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. The sales of advance tickets started on September 25 with exactly one and a half years left until the opening of the Exposition of Global Harmony in Aichi Prefecture in 2005. Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi was visited by Mr. Shoichiro Toyoda, the Chairman of the Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition, along with actress Ms. Ai Kato who was born in Aichi Prefecture, singer Dahlia who sings the official image song for the Exposition and the mascot characters, Morizo and Kiccoro. Prime Minister Koizumi received the ticket which he had made an advance purchase reservation from Ms. Ai Kato and the image song CD from Dahlia. Prime Minister Koizumi said, "The Government is aiming to double the number of foreign tourists who visit Japan by 2010, so this will be a good opportunity. Let us do our best."
