Council of Related Ministers for the Realization of Japan As a Country Built on Tourism Wednesday, May 21, 2003 A Council of Related Ministers for the realization of Japan as a country build on tourism was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. The Council was established on the basis of the report submitted by the Japan Tourism Advisory Council on April 24 with the aim of ensuring a close partnership with relevant government agencies and implementing effective and comprehensive measures for tourism establishment of Japan. The Council convened for the first time on this day. At the meeting, after Mr. Shosaburo Kimura, the Chair of the Japan Tourism Advisory Council, gave a presentation of the report, the Council exchanged opinions and discussed how to proceed to future deliberations. The Council confirmed that it would continue earnest deliberations, aiming to formulate an action program by around the end of July toward the realization of Japan as a country built on tourism.
