Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Exposition of Global Harmony (EXPO 2005 Aichi), held at Aichi Youth Park in Nagakute-cho, Aichi Prefecture.

The Exposition of Global Harmony, to be held in southeast Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, at Aichi Youth Park in Nagakute-cho and at the planned site of the Science and Technology Exchange Center in Toyota City over 185 days from March to September 2005, is intended to create a new culture and civilization in which humankind and nature co-exist under the overall theme of "Nature's Wisdom."

The Prime Minister in his congratulatory address stated, "The title, 'Exposition of Global Harmony,' matches the theme of co-existence with nature perfectly. As the first exposition of the new century, I would like to strive with the Government as a whole to gain the participation of as many countries as possible."
