Prime Minister Koizumi shakes hands with the Prime Minister Rafic Hariri of the Republic of Lebanon Prime Minister Koizumi meets with the Prime Minister Rafic Hariri of the Republic of Lebanon


Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi met with Prime Minister Rafic Hariri of the Republic of Lebanon at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Koizumi stated, "I look forward to considering what Japan can do" in regard to Japan's participation in the Lebanon Consultative Group Meeting scheduled to take place before the end of the year and financial support for Lebanon.

In addition, Prime Minister Koizumi and Prime Minister Hariri shared the view that the stability of Lebanon was important for the stability of the Middle East as a whole.
