Final Cabinet Meeting Held at the Current Prime Minister's Official Residence Friday, April 26, 2002 The final Cabinet Meeting held at the current Prime Minister's Official Residence was opened to the press. Until now it has been very rare for press to be allowed to cover the proceedings of Cabinet Meetings. However, members of the press were given access to this Cabinet Meeting, the last one to be held in the current Prime Minister's Official Residence, before the move to the recently completed new Prime Minister's Official Residence. Television cameras recorded the signing of Cabinet Documents by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and other Cabinet members. Future Cabinet Meetings will be held in the Cabinet Room of the new Prime Minister's Official Residence.
